However, here is a quick powerful technique that can help you before major events in your life like a job interview, an important presentation, or a first date.

It also can get you out of the cycle of self-doubt that may lead to a negative spiral down.

1. Determine Your “Why”

Close your eyes and imagine a small version of yourself.

Looking at that small image of yourself, determine whether your self-concept is useful for you. If not, analyze a bit. Where you would want to see yourself and give yourself several good reasons why.

This step is the key. Often, your psychological and energetic self will not react to any techniques if you do not have a good reason for it.

In a way you need to convince your inner-self to want to make the change.

2. Give Yourself the Permission to Change

Now ask that small self the permission to change. This will help you get rid of the resistance that might be blocking you.

3. Inhale Acceptance

You will need to inhale the state of acceptance into your energetic body.

So you need to recreate this state from your past. Try to remember any event, any person, or any activity that you did not necessarily like but still accepted. For instance, you got all dolled up and once you went outside, it started to rain. Remember how you felt. You might have gotten a bit upset but then you decided
that you are going to have fun anyway. (Hint: you need to remember the experience when something that you did not like did not paralyze you from doing the action or did not cause you a strong negative emotion.)

Once you found that “event”, close your eyes, put your hands on your heart and your solar plexus and “inhale” the emotion of acceptance in these two chakras. What color would this emotion be? What sound? Taste? Or maybe what word? (Different people will have different associations, so you need to choose what is right for you!)

Imagine surrounding yourself with this energy of acceptance—observe how the old image is absorbing this state and changes and how your image is becoming fuller and more accepting.

4. Inhale Gratitude

Now let’s access the state of gratitude. What (or who) are you truly grateful for? Again, put your hands on the heart and solar plexus chakras, close your eyes, and imagine the color, taste, smell, sound or whatever comes to mind when you feel this emotion.

Next, transfer this emotion of gratitude onto your self-image. Observe how the old image is absorbing this state and transforms.

5. Inhale Reverence

Imagine something really beautiful, something that captures your breath—maybe a surprising event, the smile of your child, a beautiful forest, or a gorgeous sunset. Again, put your hands on the heart and solar plexus chakras, close your eyes, and imagine the color, taste, smell, sound or whatever comes to mind when you feel this emotion.

Now transfer this emotion of reverence onto your new self-image. See how you are surrounding this image with a layer of reverence. Observe how the old image is absorbing this state and changes. Your image is becoming brighter, more beautiful, stronger, and more at peace.

6. Create Oneness

Now, you need to create oneness between yourself and your projected image. Imagine yourself merging with the new image.
